Muscle Function Based on Range of Motion
5 CECs
Join Natural Pilates’ Owner and Master Trainer, Laura Wilson, as she reviews muscle function in the body based on range of motion and muscular attachment points. She looks at muscles as active forces within the body that work on our internal structures, namely the skeletal system.
Using Elsevier’s 3D4Medical application, we can see how the muscles of the body connect the joints of the lower body, trunk & spine, and the shoulder girdle.
Traditionally, muscle function is taught in a neutral position, however, our bodies move and change position in space during exercise. The goal of this workshop is not to memorize muscles and joints, but to truly understand how muscles are recruited to create motion in the joints of the lower limb.
